Hudson's Letter

 Dear Brooks Family,

I am so happy to know Charlotte is doing better. I just have a few questions to ask. Like, did having Charlotte eating disability inspire ya’ll to make your own clothing brand? I was wondering what kind of food does Charlotte eat or does she just eat normal food? Do ya’ll have any hopes or dreams for Charlotte? Do Lincoln and Boston treat Charlotte different then they do each other? I wish Charlotte the she could have in life.

Sincerely,
Hudson

Dear Hudson,

Thanks for the great questions! Do you have a blender at home where you can put ingredients in, blend it up, and drink it like a smoothie? That’s how Charlotte’s food is! Her favorite is a combination of turkey, sweet potatoes, and green beans, just like Thanksgiving! We have to make sure its super blended so it can go through her feeding tube straight to her stomach. Our hope and dreams for Charlotte is that she would get to experience the world as much as possible. We want her to go on all the vacations, trips, and play with all the things she could imagine. Lincoln is super sweet and loves to play doctor with Charlotte. Boston doesn’t quite know how to play with her, or anyone else yet since he’s still a baby, but as he gets older, he’ll probably be most excited to push her wheelchair. We were inspired to make our clothing line because we believe that all kids with medical needs deserve fashionable clothing that helps them.

Sincerely,
The Brooks Family

This is a great idea to welcome questions. I love your openness to life with Charlotte – the struggles, the dreams, and the victories. What a fabulous way to normalize special needs.

This is so cool that you’re allowing kids to ask their questions regarding your daughter’s life. This just so cool! Are you guys open to other schools or families writing Charlotte?
